Do It : Floor To Ceiling Curtains

jhgjhgj

Lewis’s have a passion for transforming fabulous fabrics in to beautiful curtains. We've been doing this for over seventy years and we call it - The Art of Curtains.

Curtains can be like a work of art in the home, whether its through a bold printed design or softer textural fabrics, each make thier own statement. We've seen thousands of projects through our sewing room over the years, and we are very passionate about good-looking curtains but also well-fitting curtains.

      A well-fitting curtain must be

      - Fitted as close as possible to the window frame

      - Measured and fitted so that they touch the floor

      - Be a generous width so that they overlap the window frames at the sides and the curtain returns back to the wall trapping the air between the window and the curtain.

Curtains that are designed to sit above the floor can actually make the situation worse by forming a channel between the window and the curtain. Therefore, Lewis’s recommend curtains designed to sit on the floor, to seal the gap and stop the air current escaping out the bottom of the curtain.

We think that floor to ceiling curtains look absolutely STUNNING in the home rather than curtains that finish just below the sill.
By taking your curtains from floor to ceiling you create much more height to a room and you get to show off more of the gorgeous fabric you've selected.

Check out some of our favourite floor to ceiling looks below to get you inspired for your next project.
