To ensure the longevity of your Artwood outdoor product please follow our simple care instructions.
Furniture should always be lifted not dragged when being moved.
Caring for Wooden Furniture
Teak is a wood which has particularly good properties for production of furniture and interior fittings. It is hard, heavy, elastic and contains oils which give it great resistance to moisture. Artwood use only wood from Indonesian plantations to make their teak products. These are treated in three steps with lacquer to obtain a weathered worn grey colour. The final colour could have small variations depending on the sap in the timber. The treatments/lacquer will gradually fade over time after continued exposure to sunlight and water. Splits, cracking and slight movement should be expected as timber is a natural product.
All Artwood Teak products come with a tin of Teak Shield and a cloth to apply it. Leave the furniture to weather for three months and then clean the surface, apply the Teak Shield with the cloth and once the furniture is dry, it may be used again. This should be repeated every three months. Once the Teak Shield is finished we recommend using the Liberon Exterior Wood Protector in colour CLEAR. A generous coat should be applied with a paint brush every three months. Note only to use the colour clear so as not to alter the finish on your furniture. Failure to care for your Teak Furniture may void our warranty.
Caring for Wicker Furniture
Artwood Outdoor Wicker furniture is maintenance free furniture, woven by hand in all weather wicker (polyethylene), on a rustproof aluminium frame. The metal frame has a powder coated gavlanized finish that will require minimal care, we recommend wiping dirt off with a soft cloth. For any reason if the finish becomes scratched, this will need to be resealed with a rust protector.
This furniture can be used for both indoor and outdoor use, however not in freezing temperatures. The polyethylene may crack after prolonged exposure to strong sunlight and salt. We recommend washing regularly with water and a scrubbing brush to remove dirt, dust and salt build up.
Caring for Outdoor Cushions
Artwood outdoor cushions are produced with quick dry foam inners and 100% solution dyed acrylic fabric covers. Cushions should not be left out in humid or wet conditions for prolonged periods of time. All covers are removable and washable, however, dry cleaning is recommended for all fabrics.
