Alisa & Lysandra's Colour Style File

Design Duo, Alisa and Lysandra from The Block Australia, have recently released their new ‘Colour Style File’, in collaboration with Haymes Paint Australia, and we just had to share it! As they put it, their design philosophy "is one that is based on a consistent goal that outlasts popular trends and remains constant through evolving times; it’s about the Love". They are focused on the energy you receive when you open the door to your home after a long day at work, creating a home that feels warm and nurturing. In particular, they appreciate the impact that colour has on interiors and the way we feel in a space we love. Out of this philosophy and love for colour, they developed the new ‘Colour Style File’. Inspired by the latest fashion, landscaping and industrial design, the Style File is designed to overcome a common reluctance to consider or experiment with a new colour palette, and we have definitely been challenged. Check out our favourite colour palettes from their Style File below, and be inspired to experiment a wee bit more in your next design project.

White Wonders

There are currently more than 180 shades of white paint available in the Australian market right now. Not only is this a reflection of its popularity, but also the fact that not all whites are the same. Blue-toned ‘cool’ whites are perfect for neutralising bright modern rooms whilst yellow-toned ‘warm’ whites add a sense of cosiness to a more classic interior. As a result, a white-on-white palette may seem simple, but there is great skill in balancing these different tones.

Rose Quartz Attraction

Pink is definitely making a comeback, and the gorgeous shades of pink that have emerged in recent times are far more sophisticated, seductive and nurturing than they used to be. From pale powder pinks to vintage tangerines, the Rose Quartz Attraction palette will add warmth to an area that craves light and femininity. As Alisa and Lysandra share, don’t forget to balance these rose and dusky tones with greys, charcoals and copper.

Natures Grandeur

More and more, we spend our lives indoors. As a result, bringing a sense of the outdoors, in, continues to be a strong trend in interiors. The Natures Grandeur colour palette, featured above, is designed to incorporate the wide colour spectrum of nature’s hues in each of the four seasons. Alisa and Lysandra encourage us to be inspired by rich pine greens, mustard yellows, mineral hues and grassy or succulent blues to bring a comforting ‘earthiness’ to our homes.
